No Words Allowed.

This is a collection of some of my favorite songs which have little to no words. I will try to explain why each one is on my list.

1. Olafur Arnalds- Raein
_this songs has a way of drawing you in and making you forget about your surroundings. it is a great example of a song that makes you feel movement in a very gentle surrealistic way.
2.  Pink Floyd- Great Gig in the Sky
_the pure power and epic feeling this song antes is nothing to be reckoned with. clare torry destroys on a different level. this songs goes out to merkel.
3. RJD2- Ghostwriter
_this song gets included because of its personal history with me. it also just happens to be a very uplifting groovy fucking tune. one of my favorites by him.
4. Mark Mothersbaugh- Lindbergh Palace Hotel Suite
_the whole soundtrack to this movie is amazing but this song in particular sticks out for me. my favorite parts of the song are the harp solo and the amazing array of rhythmic devices and accents that are used throughout the song.
5. Tortoise- TNT
_this is another song chosen for personal history. i first heard it as the music for jason dill's skate part in 'photosynthesis.' not only was it a great part in the video but this song has a very unique feel and mood to it that i only can get when listening to it.
6. Yann Tiersenn- Comptine d'un autre été, l'après-midi
_this another one from an amazing soundtrack. it has a way about it that is not only calming but somewhat reflective, it makes you consider the moment you are in right now. i like it when songs do that.
7. DJ Shadow- Organ Donor
_its just badass.
8. Godspeed You Black Emperor!- East Hastings
_this is a song that falls in the epic category. its dark movements and tones give off a very impressionable feeling of self reflection.
9. Mark Mothersbaugh- Ping Island
_ending on a high note is this brilliantly catchy song also from a killer movie and composer.
